ACTION: Fungicide; Seed Treatment/Protectant.
USE: Foliar diseases such as downy mildew and late blight; soilborne diseases caused by Phytophthora and Pythium. Acceleron* seed treatment for use on corn and soybeans.
FORMULATIONS: Emulsifiable concentrate, granule, flowable, wettable powder.

Identification

COMMON NAME: Metalaxyl (ANSI, ISO, BSI).

Chemistry

COMPOSITION: N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)-N-(methoxyacetyl)-DL-alanine methyl ester.
PROPERTIES: Solubility at 20℃, 65% in methanol; 55% in benzene.

Environmental Guidelines

HAZARDS: Fish: Relatively nontoxic.
WATER SOLUBILITY: 7100 ppm at 20℃.

Safety Guidelines

TOXICITY: Tech (Rat): Oral LD50 669 mg/kg. Dermal >3100 mg/kg.

Emergency Guidelines

FIRST AID: Get medical aid. Eyes: flush immediately with plenty of water. Skin: wash thoroughly with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Inhalation: remove to fresh air. Ingestion: drink 1-2 glasses of water.
