USE: For use in vegetables, fruit, turf, ornamentals, almonds, peanuts, soybeans.
FORMULATIONS: Wettable powder, paste, flowable, granule, dust, ULV.
PREMIX PARTNERS: Chloroneb; Chlorothalonil; Cymoxanil; Epoxiconazole; Etridiazole; Imidacloprid; Iprodione; Mancozeb; Maneb; Pyraclostrobin; Thiram; Vinclozolin.

Identification

COMMON NAME: Thiophanate-methyl (ANSI, ISO, BSI, JMAF).

Chemistry

COMPOSITION: Dimethyl [(1,2-phenylene)bis-(iminocarbonothioyl)] bis[carbamate]((1)1).
CLASS: Carbamate.
PROPERTIES: Unique thioallophanate structure; colorless crystalline solid. Melting point 168℃ with decomposition. Sparingly soluble in most organic solvents.

 

Environmental Guidelines

HAZARDS: Fish: Slightly toxic (sunfish, rainbow trout); Highly toxic (catfish); Bird: Very low toxicity.
WATER SOLUBILITY: Slightly soluble.

Safety Guidelines

TOXICITY: (Rat): Oral LD50 7500 mg/kg. Inhalation LC50 1.7 mg/l (4 h), 10.2 mg/l (1 h).
HANDLING/STORAGE: Store in a cool, dry place, away from feed and food. Avoid contact with mouth, eyes, and skin. Keep out of reach of children.
