Action / Use
ACTION: Insecticide.
USE: Fir use on citrus, fruits, cotton, mulberry, rice, tea, tobacco, vegetables; mosquitoes.
FORMULATIONS: Emulsifiable concentrate, wettable powder, oil solution, dust, granules.
PREMIX PARTNERS: Cypermethrin; Dimethoate; Etofenprox; Fenobucarb.

Identification

COMMON NAME: Phenthoate (ISO, BSI); PAP (JMAF).

Chemistry

COMPOSITION: S-(a-ethoxycarbonylbenzyl) O,O-dimethyl phosporo-dithioate (1).
PROPERTIES: Reddish-yellow liquid. Specific gravity 1.22. Melting point 17.5℃. Soluble, at 20℃, 12% in n-hexane, 17% in ligroin; soluble at concentrations above 20% in diethylene glycol and above.

Environmental Guidelines

HAZARDS: Fish: LC100 4.5 mg/l (goldfish). Bee: Toxic.
WATER SOLUBILITY: Soluble, 0.02% at 20℃.

Safety Guidelines

TOXICITY: (Rat): Oral LD50 440 mg/kg. Dermal LD50 2100 mg/kg.
HANDLING/STORAGE CAUTIONS: Must be stored in sealed original container, stacked in such a way as to permit free air circulation at the bottom and inside of the piles, in well-aired, fresh, and dry storehouses, or in shaded, well-aired places. Product temperature should not exceed 25-30℃. Keep away from sources of heat, free flames, or spark-generating equipment. Storage areas must be located at a suitable distance from inhabited buildings, animal shelters, food stores inaccessible to unauthorized persons, children, and domestic animals. Biological activity of the product remains practically unvaried for 2 years under environmental conditions, provided the product is stored properly.
